I left the warmth and comfort of the Rubin-Crumps for a day in light but cool showers. Stopped at a cool bike shop in Rochester, VT, where the guys compted me some spokes. While I was there, the Kona rep called and said I could stay with him when I get to Bellingham. I'll be calling Dale. I stopped at the Hancock Hotel cuz I was too cold to continue. The owner, Diane, didn't have a chance to clean the room so we made a deal. She gave me a nice break and I slept in one of the beds upstairs. The guest before me was a New England artist, and a tidy one at that. I had housemade meatloaf and a piece of the coconut cream pie Diane was making when I arrived. Took a very hot bath to soak the old quads. Slept like a baby again.
