I left Buffalo to hit the Friendship Trail on the Canadian side of Lake Erie. It's stunningly beautiful, but I've never been pelted by so many bugs in my life. A particularly friendly insect flew right down my throat. Would that be protein?
I stayed at a trailer park on the water that was practically deserted. The manager compt the site, but the store and restaurant were closed so there was NO FOOD. I ate the tasty peanut butter rice crispy (made with brown rice syrup) that I had bought at the Buffalo coop the day before for dinner. Leave it to me to find two lovely people, Will and Diane, two of the three people staying at the campground that Tuesday night, to feed me fettucini and Baileys! As God is my witness, I shall never starve (can't say "again," cuz I've never starved)! We hung out on their deck chatting and drinking Baileys into the night, me wrapped up in their sofa blanket, which they lent me for the whole night.
